The beaches of Lagos and the Algarve are undoubtedly among the most beautiful in Portugal. Their impressive cliffs, crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery make them unmissable seaside destinations. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure or simply a connection with nature, the beaches of the Algarve will win you over!

The beaches of Lagos

One of the region’s most popular seaside destinations, Lagos stands out for its spectacular coastal scenery, majestic cliffs and crystal-clear waters.

Praia Dona Ana

This beach is often considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. It features spectacular rocky cliffs and transparent waters in shades of blue and green. Access to the beach is via a wooden staircase that winds through the cliffs, adding to its charm. Praia Dona Ana also offers services such as restaurants, parasols and sun loungers for hire by the day.

Praia do Camilo

Another picturesque beach in Lagos, Praia do Camilo is also surrounded by steep cliffs. Access to this beach is by steep wooden steps, but the panoramic views are well worth the effort. The beach is smaller than Praia Dona Ana but offers an intimate atmosphere and crystal clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Praia da Batata

Located close to the Lagos city centre, Praia da Batata is a more urban beach, easily accessible on foot from the historic centre. Although smaller than the others, it is lively and offers a variety of seafront bars and restaurants. It’s a great place to relax and soak up the sun while still being close to the city’s amenities.

Meia Praia

Stretching over 4 km along the coast, this is the largest beach in Lagos. It is ideal for walks, but also for water sports such as kite-surfing, windsurfing and surfing, with its large waves and vast expanses of water.

Praia do Porto de Mós

Surrounded by high cliffs, this beach is famous for its fascinating rock formations. A little further from the centre of Lagos, it is popular with families and nature lovers due to its calm waters and nearby scenic hiking trails.
